11/8/2023 0 Comments Used santa cruz truck![]() ![]() Body roll is nicely managed and it feels easy to place on line with absolutely none of the typical floppy truck-y vibes. Handling: Similar experience to braking here it feels much more like a small or even subcompact SUV around the skidpad. Stopping distances are pretty consistent too. Mild amounts of steering wheel wiggle and even less nosedive, and the antilock braking system is pretty quiet while it works. There is a bit of residual bouncing when you come to a complete stop, but I've experienced that in some sedans too. It's quiet, it brakes very much like an SUV does, and is in fact feels like a pretty darn good SUV at that. Braking: Nothing from behind the wheel indicates that this is a truck. Not a particularly great-sounding engine but not entirely annoying either. Engine starts to feel good around 3,500 rpm and holds that thrust till it shifts at 6,000 rpm. The revs climb kind of slowly and settle around 2,000 rpm and the car leaves a line with a little bit more urgency, but it's nowhere near what we typically experience with a proper dual-clutch launch control launch. Our quickest run was powerbraking in Sport mode with traction control turned off, for the sake of it. Transmission shifts nice and quickly too. The 2.5T engine is pretty nice and because of the all-wheel drive, there's no wheelslip even with traction and stability control turned off. However, it will rev match on downshifts and it does so pretty nicely with its steering wheel-mounted paddles. Lane keeping system (makes minor steering corrections to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane)ĭriver’s Comments Acceleration: Redline is marked at 6,500 rpm, but this thing will shift at 6,000 even in manual mode.360-degree camera system (gives you a top-down view of the Santa Cruz and its surroundings for tight parking situations).Adaptive cruise control (maintains a driver-set distance between the Santa Cruz and the car in front).10.25-inch touchscreen (deletes wireless connectivity for smartphone integration).Digital key capability (can use select phones as a vehicle key).Turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (281 hp, 311 lb-ft of torque).Household-style power outlet in the bed. ![]()
